The ISACA Student Group at Democritus University of Thrace, was established in 2014 in order to liase students with the ISACA long-term members and give students the opportunity to build a network and explore job and collaboration opportunities. We are affiliated with ISACA international and the ISACA Athens Chapter.
Our mission is to promote education and the expansion of knowledge and skills of our members across the spectrum of electronic governance. Also, is provided the opportunity to members to consider professional credentials of the organization as well as to network and collaborate with student groups of other universities. The ISACA student group organizes events and seminars, providing a valuable chance to students interested in related careers as well as an effort to cover generally students’ needs and demands.



As an independent, nonprofit, global association, ISACA engages in the development, adoption and use of globally accepted, industry-leading knowledge and practices for information systems. Previously known as the Information Systems Audit and Control Association, ISACA now goes by its acronym only, to reflect the broad range of IT governance professionals it serves. For more than 40 years, ISACA has been a pace-setting global organization for information governance, control, security and audit professionals. Through its comprehensive guidance and services, ISACA defines the roles of information systems governance, security, audit and assurance professionals worldwide. The COBIT framework and the CISA, CISM, CGEIT and CRISC certifications are ISACA brands respected and used by these professionals for the benefit of their enterprises.

Students taking courses in accounting/accounting information systems, business administration, information systems/MIS, computer science, engineering, and other related disciplines leading to careers in IT audit, security, risk and control, and governance of enterprise IT may be interested in meeting together outside of the classroom. ISACA Student Membership is encouraged, but not mandatory, for members of an Isaca Student Group. Isaca encourages education beyond the study of courses allowing students to network and learn from each other, connected with a supportive team of professionals, allowing the creation of Student Groups. By participating in a Student Group, students acquire knowledge and experience are equipped to career paths after graduation.
